Artist Statement

As an up and coming artist, I like to base my artwork on concepts and individuality. Some of my art has no specific meaning, but is meant to allow the viewer give their own depiction and interpretation of my work. I tend to not give a hidden message in my pieces and if there is a specific meaning I am trying to get across, it will be fairly noticeable. Being different is one of my life mottos and I try to present that in my work. I don’t have the best texture or detail, but the colors and designs is what separates me from other artists. Using colors that don’t go together is one of my favorite things to do because it throws off the viewer and allows them to look at different aspects of my art. There is no right or wrong depiction of my artwork and using these tactics allow the viewer to develop multiple thoughts on one piece.
What motivates me to create art is the ability to put all my thoughts and feelings on a canvas and also the self-satisfaction of recreating the image in my mind on paper. Displaying what’s going on in my mind through images and drawings is one of the beauties in life. And that beauty is, is that there is no right or wrong way to express you, and that is satisfying. To become a well known artist is not my goal, my goal is to inform the masses the meaning of commitment and being an individual. None of my artwork is loved by everyone, and none of my artwork is perfect; but putting in the time and effort to relieve stress and build self-esteem by creating art is what makes me keep my sanity.
